Getting ready for Skiing
As winter is among us and you are getting anxious about getting back on the slope there are a few things you should consider before putting those skis back on.
First you will want to take an honest test to yourself and ask yourself how good of a shape are you really in, when was the last time you went running or even just walking? So before you even start you want to be able to at least walk or run for 30 minutes at least 3 to 4 times a week, after you have gotten yourself into some what of good shape you will need to start getting your heart rate up so you can burn fat and start building muscle. For that you will want to do at list 15 minutes of some type of aerobic exercises daily, such as stairs, jump rope, anything that will get you moving at a faster pace.
Basically you are going to need to get up and do something to get your heart rate up so that you can get your legs ready for the slopes. If your legs are not in shape then you shouldn’t even be thinking about going.
Remember that in our golden years it is harder to stay fit and you should take the time to evaluate your physical fitness before starting any type of sports.
